President
Jim Hughes began his career in the construction industry with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Auburn University in Building Science.
Jim was fortunate to be involved in a variety of large projects in his early career...from the $6 million preparation of the Atlanta Omni for the 1988 Democratic Convention with Turner Construction to a $13 million dollar medical office building at Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center, a $15 million expansion and renovation project at Southern Regional Medical Center and a $30 million addition to Piedmont Hospital with Beers Construction.
Jim’s attention to detail and reputable client relations earned him a preferred position in the early years of his career.
In spite of his rapid progression and success with these nationally recognized construction companies, Jim’s desire to build his own business led him to a partnership with a former Beer’s superintendent to form Latimer & Hughes Construction Company, Inc.. Since 1994, Jim and his partner have specialized in healthcare, government and financial institution construction projects throughout the West Georgia area. Jim is widely known for his reputation as a quality contractor who produces exceptional results on time and within budget.

J.J. Latimer began his career in construction in 1991 as a Carpenter for Beers Construction Company in Atlanta, Georgia. After a four year tour of duty with the U.S. Marine Corp that ended in 1998, J.J. returned to Beers as a Carpenter Foreman. During his time at Beers, J.J. worked on several high profile, multi-million dollar projects in the Atlanta area including, Emory University Hospital, Piedmont Hospital, Grady Health System, and Home Depot’s Corporate Headquarters.
As Vice President and General Superintendent for Latimer & Hughes, J.J. brings a wealth of knowledge and respected experience in commercial construction to the management team.
